Barre utilizes a variety of exercises performed at the barre and on your mat consisting of high repetitions of small movements. This is a low impact class which requires no prior experience. Restorative Yoga is a passive, meditative form of yoga that allows you to focus on your breath while releasing tension in your body. Unlike other forms of yoga, restorative yoga requires you to hold asanas or poses for an extended length of time, typically 5 minutes or more. Through the use of props many of the postures are held almost effortlessly.You will utilize folded blankets, blocks, or bolsters to support your body that will allow you to deepen the pose and more fully relax your body. This practice is gentle and generally considered safe for most people. Room is gently heated.
Strength and Core is designed to build core muscle groups while improving posture through performing a variety of exercises that strengthen not only your core but the whole body. The instructor may include a variety of equipment in this great workout.
Tabata is a total body workout that aims to yield the most benefits in a short amount of time. For each exercise, you do eight rounds of 20 seconds of strenuous exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest. Finish off the class with a really sweet instructor led stretch. Class is accessible for most as modifications are provided to be lower impact. (Gently heated in the winter)
Vinyasa & Heated Vinyasa is a flow style of yoga (Vinyasa) that offers a balance of strength, flexibility, and endurance. Class will incorporate sitting and standing poses in a continuous flow connecting the breath to the movement. This class is suitable for most students with varying levels of skill and endurance and can be tailored by the individual to meet their level of skill with cued modifications. Heated vinyasa is taught under 90 degrees of infrared heat.
Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. Suitable for almost all students, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Yin and yang tissues respond quite differently to being exercised. You need to experience this to really know what Yin Yoga is all about. Come once and you’ll realize that before that, you were missing out on half of your yoga practice.
